Before the start of the 1982-83 season, the Houston Rockets traded All-Star Center Moses Malone to the Philadelphia 76ers. Malone was coming off an MVP season with the Rockets, but it was time for a change so off he went to Philadelphia. Malone continued his stellar play in 82-83, averaging 15.3 rebounds per game to lead the league in boards for the third consecutive season. The Sixers breezed through the regular season and for the second year in a row they faced the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals. Malone seemed to be the piece that was missing for Philly as they swept the Lakers in four games to win the franchise's second NBA title in the City of Brotherly Love (they won the 1954-55 title when they were the Syracuse nationals). Malone was named Finals MVP and League MVP, becoming the only professional athlete to win League MVP in consecutive seasons, while with two different teams. 100% polyester mesh body. Twill logo, name and numbers. Woven label name/year ID patch.
